Send a Letter Urging Canada to Support Unrestricted Aid Access to Gaza

Dear Member of Parliament,

I am writing as your constituent to express deep concern about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the continued restrictions on aid entering the region.

On May 7th, 2026, Doctors Without Borders issued a report stating that Israel has deliberately restricted food and humanitarian aid, creating what the organization describes as an “entirely manufactured” malnutrition crisis. Reports from the UN and international media consistently show that essential supplies—food, water, medical equipment, fuel— continue to enter Gaza at levels far below what is required for civilian survival.

Despite public commitments from various governments, including Canada, to support humanitarian access, the reality on the ground remains dire. Aid convoys face bottlenecks, border closures, and inspection delays, preventing life‑saving assistance from reaching people in urgent need. The Doctors Without Borders report demonstrates that blockades on essential goods and attacks on civilian infrastructure have severely harmed maternal and infant health.

I am asking you, as my elected representative, to take the following actions:

1.     Raise this issue in Parliament and call for Canada to press for fully open and reliable land crossings for humanitarian aid.

2.     Advocate for independent, international monitoring of aid access to ensure transparency and accountability.

3.     Support increased Canadian humanitarian assistance, including funding for UN agencies and NGOs working in Gaza.

4.     Publicly affirm Canada’s commitment to international humanitarian law, including the obligation to allow unimpeded access for relief supplies.

This is not a partisan issue. It is a matter of human rights, international law, and basic human dignity. Canada has long positioned itself as a defender of humanitarian principles. At this moment, that commitment must be demonstrated clearly and consistently.

I urge you to speak out and take action to ensure that aid can reach civilians without obstruction. Lives depend on it. Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
